# Understanding Analysis

> How to read and interpret candidate interview analysis on Serin.

The Analysis page is where your team reviews a candidate's interview session for a specific job. This guide explains what each part of an analysis contains and how to use it in your hiring decisions.

# Overview

A Session Analysis brings together everything Serin captured about a candidate's interview — their performance, transcript, report, and communication history — in one place.

Use analysis to:

* Understand how a candidate performed against job requirements
* Review interview evidence alongside the AI-generated report
* Compare candidates consistently across the same role
* Decide on next steps with your hiring team

For the step-by-step walkthrough of the Analysis page interface, see [View Analysis →](/using-serin/view-analysis).

# Report Sections

When you open the **Detailed Report** tab, you will find structured sections that explain the candidate's evaluation. Typical sections include:

### Resume Match

How well the candidate's resume aligns with the job requirements, including similarity scoring and screening outcomes.

### Interview Summary

A high-level overview of how the interview went — key themes, overall impression, and notable moments from the session.

### Skills Assessment

Serin evaluates candidates based on their responses for each question keeping in mind the job required skill-areas.

### Communication

How effectively the candidate communicated during the interview — clarity, structure, and responsiveness.

### Technical Evaluation

For technical roles, assessment of domain knowledge, problem-solving approach, and depth of experience demonstrated in responses.

### Organization Custom Questions

If your organization configured custom interview questions for the job, results appear here with the candidate's response, supporting evidence, and assessment for each question.

### Overall Recommendation

A synthesized view of the candidate's fit for the role based on resume match, interview performance, and scores.

<Note>
  Report sections vary by role and job configuration. Not every section appears for every job.

# Interview Playback

The **Interview Details** tab lets you review the interview recording and transcript.

You can:

* **Replay the interview** — Watch the session to verify context and tone
* **Navigate the timeline** — Move through the recording alongside the transcript
* **Read the transcript** — Review exactly what was said during the session

Playback helps you validate the AI report with your own judgment. Use it when a score or recommendation needs additional context.

# Candidate Comparison

Serin supports comparing multiple candidates for the same job side by side. Comparison surfaces:

* Overall fit scores across candidates
* Custom question results (if configured)
* Application status

Use comparison to shortlist finalists or align your hiring team on a shared view of candidate performance. Always review individual session analyses for finalists before making final decisions.

<Warning>
  Comparison highlights key signals but does not replace reading the full report, transcript, and playback for each candidate you are seriously considering.
</Warning>

# Best Practices

* **Read the report and watch the interview** — AI-generated insights are most useful when combined with your own review of the session.
* **Evaluate against job required skill-areas** — Focus on how the candidate performed based on job required skill areas for the role.
* **Use comparison for consistency** — When multiple candidates interviewed for the same role, comparison reduces subjective bias.
* **Consider the full hiring picture** — Interview analysis is one signal. Combine it with resume review, references, and team feedback.
* **Communicate from Serin** — Use the Email Conversation tab to track candidate communication without switching tools.

# Who Can View Analysis?

Any organization representative with the **Admin**, **Manager**, or **Member** role can view analysis for sessions within their organization. Make sure the correct organization is selected in the navigation bar before opening a session.
